Sheikh Muhammad al Mohaisany - Surah Maryam

Posted under Uncategorized

Assalamualaykum WaRahmatuAllah

When I am angered or just plain annoyed (case being right now), I like listening to the Quran to calm me down.

This is one of my favourites, It is beautiful as it is, but if you understand the meaning it is even more beautiful.
What are our trials in comparission to those who have passed before us?
Sh Mohaisany was arrested for speaking out against what he thought was wroing, and went through many a trial for it.

Ayahs of the Quran are a nourishment to the soul. May Allah (SWT) soften our hearts by it, and cleanse them through its noor.
May Allah (SWT) make the Quran a light for us in our daily lives, and May he make it a hajah (intercessor) for us on the day of Qiyamah, when there shall be no intercession except from those whom Allah (SWT) (swt) wills.

I would Just like to address …

Posted under Uncategorized

Assalamualaykum WaRahmatuAllah

I’d just like to address a couple of comments left on my 2 pence on the masjids built here.

Alhumdulillah its a beautiful masjid, and house of Allah (SWT).
And every Penny is well spent, what I meant was that even though we have such a huge masjid, why build more?

I as you state am no-one, but some one with an opinion.
And you seem to have taken things rather out of context, My comment was not meant in a bad way at all, but as stated before, that when we already have so many masajid and great ones at that, why the need for more?!

Yes I am aware* of the reward of the for building masjids, but you tell me, if there is a masjid on 2 ends of one street, is it causing unity or difference?
And unfortunately, the politics that surround such take away from the sincerity of the action.

{* There is also a hadith that states, that close to qiyamah, The courtyards of Masjids will be built beautifully and high mimbars (pulpits) will be erected. The Masjid will be many and decorated, but the hearts of the people will be devoid of guidance. (aw kama Qaal saw) }

Alhumdulillah, a masjid is meant to be the centre of the Muslim community, and working together is what will strengthen the community.

Understandably this is a large town, to cover even basically 5/10 Masajid are needed.
But why build masajid in areas where there are already masajid?
Why not in areas, where they are needed more?

I never meant to attack any masjid in particular (Na’oozubillah), but wanted to address the issue that, if there are already masaajid, why not help them? invest in them for more facilities, help them attract more musallis.

I never in anyway meant for my post to degrade any masjid etc, May Allah (SWT) reward those who do try, but first and fore mostly May Allah (SWT), keep their intentions sincere and unite the ummah.

Many of you have taken it personally that I have some problem against the masjid mentioned, WaAllahi I do not.
It is a great achievement for the community, and this masjid holds a very special place in my heart. My comment “Millions what can I say”, was not meant in a bad way at all. I guess my comments as such seem to hit the wrong nerves in some people.

Whatever happened to making 70 excuses for a brother?

This blog addresses my own thoughts and opinions, I am not subjecting anyone else to have the same.
My thoughts (rather my personal thoughts) rarely become actions, and at times, I write to vent, so I would appreciate it if people would have a little more consideration, instead of stereotyping and insulting.

Although in the future I would appreciate it if you would not insult me so profusely as to insulting my father. I am sure you would not appreciate it If I did the same to you.

JazakumAllah Khair

The Ties That Bind

Posted under Uncategorized

Assalamualaykum Wa RahmatuAllah

So I graduated from madrassah Sep 2004 (I think it was 2004, i have issues with remembering exact dates! Edit It was actually 2005 (see what I mean!!))
By the time I graduated, Alhumdulillah I had my head screwed on properly, I knew what I wanted to do after I left and how I wanted to put to use all that I had learnt.

Where’s this going you ask?

My point is that even though madrassah is a 6year course, and you should kind of have your head screwed on right before you join (which obviously wasn’t the case with me!), the “rude awakening” or to be thematic, “Seed of Realisation” can grow anytime (and unfortunately at times not even after you graduate!).
So my realisation hit when I was in my 5th year, (better late thean never I guess!) when I got to know some truly amazing people, my dear friends from the land of You Ess of A (USA).

These were some of the most sincere people I had ever come across, Alhumdulillah. That even though by this time in my study I had learnt alot (ok quite alot!), I felt belittled by them, due to their sincerity for working for the sake of the deen.
So far I had cruised by the years in madrassah, just doing something which so far was a norm in my family it was like;

Adult : “Radiant what do you want to be when you grow up?”

Me: “An Aalimah!”

The actual responsibility of the knowledge and title not registering at all!

So this lead me to alot of soul searching, and the realisation of what actually awaited me when I graduated a year later.

These people showed me (by the will of Allah (SWT)) the value of the knowledge I had, that where they were how they wished for knowledge to be as widely available as we have here, they showed me how much they strived to actually gain knowledge of the deen.
I felt a complete essence of shame, How I had so much at my doorstep (I didn’t even have to go to a boarding school!), how this gift of knowledge was so available to me, yet I hadn’t ever shown a sense of appreciation.

To do this day I thank Allah (SWT), for introducing me to these people, and that May Allah (SWT) bless them immensely, Make easy their trials and grant them Jannah. Insha’Allah (SWT).

Am not being awkward by not mentioning names, Remember A prayer made for some-one without their knowing holds more value.

Through these people Allah (SWT) opened my eyes, and made me what I am today. A teacher and a da’ee of the deen of Allah (SWT). Some-one who actually appreciates the gifts I was granted with and what it means to have them.

This realisation bought about a “new” me. One full of more confidence and even respect.
I learnt the right mixture needed when talking about the deen;

1 cup of confidence
2 cups of knowledge
unlimited amounts of patience and love.

I learnt how to spread the deen, with confidence and love. Learnt patience when things weren’t going too well, and shukr when they were :)

I make dua that Allah (SWT) always keep me working in his path Insha’Allah (SWT), and continue to bless me.
I humbly request from the rest of you to keep me in your duas also Insha’Allah (SWT).

Stress Relief

Posted under Uncategorized

Assalamualaykum WaRahmatuAllah

I found this on the net, thought it was funny and remembered all you stressed out people doing exams :D, though I don’t recommend #1 at all, they just might reach your brain!

  • Shove 20 marshmallows up your nose and try sneezing them out.

  • Use your Master Card to pay off your Visa.
  • WHEN SOMEONE TELLS YOU TO HAVE A NICE DAY, TELL THEM THAT YOU HAVE OTHER PLANS.
  • Make a TO-DO list of things that you have already done.
  • Fill your taxes out in Roman numerals as revenge against the government.
  • Pay your electric bill in pennies.
  • DRIVE TO WORK IN REVERSE.
  • READ THE DICTIONARY UPSIDE DOWN AND LOOK FOR SECRET MESSAGES.
  • Bill your doctor for the time you spend in the waiting room.
  • Write a short story using alphabet soup.
  • STARE AT PEOPLE THROUGH A FORK AND PRETEND THEY ARE IN JAIL.
  • Make up a language and ask people for directions.

And if you get called weird etc for any of the above … your excuse is “I’m stressed” hehe

Hope this made you in the least smile :)

Here, there and everywhere what do you see…..?

Posted under Uncategorized

AssalamuAlaykum WaRahmatuAllah

Edit: I edited this due to the fact that it caused many people offence.
And most of what I said was taken out of context.

So I have a couple of really busy months coming up, fundraisers, crash courses, intense courses and babies all in the mix! (On that note the nieces just walked in to spend the night!) So if I scant on blogging I’m sorry, but I will update as much as I can, cos believe you me enough crazy stuff happens at times like this!

A sister mentioned to me that other day that a new masjid (mosque) is being built, about a 5 min walk from my house … keeping in my mind there’s already a masjid, a 2 Min walk from my house and several others all in walking distance!

Being a resident of Bolton I must say we probably proudly boast the fact that as a town (not even a city) we have 17 Masajids.
Alhumdulillah, the houses of Allah (SWT) are on every corner BUT why the sarcastic undertone you may ask?

Now picture this you have a street (for all you Americans … this is what a typical British street looks like … click here) … The street has a maximum of 30 homes … and on one end of this street you have one masjid and behold! on the other end there is another?!

Is this uniting the ummah or dis-uniting?

Understandably all the pockets who wanna build masjids and take the initiative do it for the reward (well I hope so anyway!), but why don’t they just use that money to improve or extend current masjids?!

What ever happened to the reward of “travelling to the masjid”?

Not to mention the politics involved in each masjid … *Rolls eyes*

Anyways that’s just my 2 pence worth on the crazy community I live in.

May Allah (SWT) unite the Ummah. Ameen
