Eternal Wounds

Posted at under eternal wounds, tongue

“The tongue has no limits to the harm it can cause. This is why Ali radiallahu anhu used to say:

“The wounds of the spear may heal, but the wounds of the tongue forever remain.”

The tongue is neither restricted by space nor time. One can cause harm with his tongue to someone who may sitting hundreds of miles away.

With the tongue one can even cause harm to the deceased and to those who have yet to come into this world.”

And then, verily whatever we say is accountable.

That’s true! The altering effects of character can be known by its goodness and badness. Good character rewards respect, and appreciation of others. Bad character, in fact, defames the person, with its wretchedness.
