Heart of Coal

A soul so black with sin
Hurting only its self sin after sin
Yet one day it sees the light
and prays to make it right.
Tears spring forth out of regret
Wishing the sins it could forget
But with those memories it must live
Praying that the sins its Lord will forgive
The heart having gone through so much pain
Knowing now it was for no gain
Not in this world or the next
Each moment now leading to the deepest of regrets.
Each day to its Lord it grieves
Repenting so that salvation it may receive
Slowly the heart is lead
So with forgivness it can truly be cleansed.

Yea I did write it, My very few ventures into writing poetry. Used to write alot during High school, but since then times and experiences have changed alot and its been difficult putting thoughts to words, so this is one of my few feeble attempts.

Indeed, when we realize the besmirched garment of our deeds, and with a little ponder, it can make us tearful. That’s the change, that’s the light, that’s the guidance…and when we cling to it, Allah
(SWT) makes our ways easy.
With a sincere repentance unto Allah
(SWT), one can expect His forgiveness. Lo! He is Beneficent, the Most Merciful!
