Eight Things to Learn

One time a scholar asked one of his students, “You have spent a long time with me, what have you learned?” He said I learned eight things:

First, I looked to the creation. Everyone has a loved one. When he goes to the grave, he leaves his loved one. Therefore, I made my loved one my good deeds; that way, they will be with me in the grave.

Second, I looked to the verse, “But as for him who feared to stand before his Lord and restrained his soul from lust,” therefore, I struggled against my desires so I could stay obeying Allah (SWT).

Third, I saw that if anyone has something with him that is worth something, he will protect it. Then I thought about the verse,”That which you have is wasted away; and that which is with Allah (SWT) remains,” therefore, everything worth something with me I devoted to Him so it would be with Him for me.

Fourth, I saw the people seeking wealth, honor and positions and it was not worth anything to me. Then I thought about Allah (SWT)’s words, “Lo, the noblest of you in the sight of Allah (SWT) is the most aware of Allah (SWT), so I did my best to become aware of Allah (SWT) in order to gain nobility in his sight.

Fifth, I saw the people being jealous towards each other and I looked at the verse, “We have apportioned among them their livelihood in the life of the world”, so I left jealousy.

Sixth, I saw the people having enmity and I thought about the verse, “Lo, the devil is an enemy for you, so take him as an enemy”, so I left enmity and I took the Satan as my only enemy.

Seventh, I saw them debasing themselves in search of sustenance and I thought about the verse, “And there is not a beast in the earth but the sustenance thereof depends on Allah (SWT)”, so I kept myself busy with my responsibilities toward Him and I left my property with Him.

Eighth, I found them relying on their business, buildings and health and I thought about the verse, “And whosoever puts his trust in Allah (SWT), He will suffice him”, therefore, I put my trust only on Allah (SWT).

If you want the Rainbow, you got to put up with the rain….

The key is to get to know people and trust them to be who they are. Instead, we trust people to be who we want them to be- and when they’re not, we cry.

  3. Abdul Jawad Said,

Subhan’Allah (SWT)! Call it a rarest incidence, that which I have collected years back, from a magazine, rewrote in a book, then recently typed and saved it in my system…that same info I see, by you, in English

I have put those eight things under title “Hikmat ki 8 Baatein”

    1. Nekiyon ko apna mehboob bana kiyon ki yeh qabar mein saath aayegi

    2. Allah (SWT) (SWT) ka farmaan: “Aur jo apne Rab ke huzoor haazri se darta raha aur apne aapko buri qwahisho se rokta raha, uska tikhana yaqeenan jannath hai”.

    3. Allah (SWT) (SWT) ka farman: “Jo kuch tumharey paas hai ek din qatm ho jayega aur jo Allah (SWT) ke paas hai wo hamesha hamesha baaqi rahega”.

    4. Allah (SWT) (SWT) ka farman: “Tum logon mein jo sab se ziyada burayi se bachney wala aur nekiyaan kamaney wala hai wahi Allah (SWT) ke nazdeek sabse ziyada izzat wala hai”.

    5. Allah (SWT) (SWT) ka farman: “Un logon ko duniya ki zindagi ka saaz-wo-saamaan Hum hi ne apni maslihat mutabiq diya hai”. (Surah Zakhroof: Ayat 32)

    6. Allah (SWT) (SWT) ka farman: “ Beshak shaitaan tumhara dushman hai, tum usi ko apna dushman samjho”.

    7. Allah (SWT) (SWT) ka farman: “Zameen par chalney phirney waley har jaandaar ki rozi Allah (SWT) ne apne zimme le li hai”.

    8. Allah (SWT) (SWT) ka farman: “Aur jo Allah (SWT) par barosa karega to Allah (SWT) uske liye kaafi hai”.

I must thank you (for I have no English version of that, so hope you dont mind it, if I copy this)
